Itching Ears? Here's Your Guy.

I'm sad to admit that a local pastor was given a national platform at this week's Democrat National Convention. Sad because Joel Hunter, leader of Orlando's Northland Community Church, totally blew it, essentially denying his own faith!

When given the chance to deliver the benediction at the close of the event in Denver, Hunter, an "emerging Church" guru, recognized the validity of all faiths, and in the name of participation and togetherness, asked those in attendance to offer their prayer to the deity of their choice. Maybe James 4:4 is missing from his Bible. It was a wholesale sellout that immediately put this guy near the top of my "Could Be the False Prophet" list.

The Reverend Billy Graham had close relationships with every American president since the 1950s, Republican and Democrat alike. But he never, ever "nuanced" his faith with feel-good, "you're OK, I'm OK" pablum or failed to pray in The Name of JESUS. Billy Graham knew that the foundation of this nation was and always will be the unapologetic, Christian faith of our forefathers, and no amount of denial or revisionist history or liberal judicial activism could change that fact.

God have mercy on us.

II Tim. 4:3
"The time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."
